Rosie the Riverter

Rosie was a fictional character that was truly alive in the spirits of the women of the 1940's. She was and inspirational propaganda tactic by the government. Rosie encouraged the women of America to get to work in factories, munitions plants, and shipyards during World War II. Rosie told women that they were strong and free-willed to go out and due their duty to serve their country, a message that women had never gotten this strongly before. Rosie the Riveter was just the beginning of the governments extensive propaganda to get women in the work force.
